Guest (cart included), played on Wednesday, June 2015 at

Played as a guest with long time friends, and had a very enjoyable day. Because of a MSGA tournament, we started on #3, which is adjacent to the clubhouse, and never encountered another group until we turned back to #1. Nice management job by the course staff. All tee times were delayed about an hour because of wet conditions, since the course does not have cart paths.

Layout winds through an upscale development, but homes are never intrusive, although some are eye-catching. Lots of elevation change, and several really neat covered bridges over the stream running through the property. Good use of the few ponds, and bunkers well-placed. Greens are large, most are sloped, and a few tiered, but nothing outlandish. Tee boxes are level, and landing areas fairly wide and receptive. Rough is pretty thick, and in some cases, fairly tight to the greens. Design is well-integrated into the terrain, with no artificiality (take that, Pete Dye!). Lots of verticality, so course is not walkable, IMHO, especially for us older folks.

Conditions on 6-24-15 were excellent. Greens were wonderful: moderately fast and true: no bumps or bare spots anywhere. Fairways were in great shape: a couple of "reseeded" areas, but minimal. Bunkers were a bit rough because of the recent rains. Rough was thick and juicy.

Clubhouse and staff were at country club levels, very accommodating, and projected a genuine feel of being welcome. After-golf refreshments were excellent, too.

Overall, a very pleasant golfing experience, worthy of repeat. Highly recommend!

Would travel: 60-120 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area
